Yamaha YZ450F Overview
You don’t get to see any major design overhaul on the new YZ450F except for new graphics and a blacked-out radiator covering. It is based on a bilateral aluminium frame that offers precise cornering performance as well as adequate bump stability. This motocrosser features a fully adjustable KYB inverted front fork with speed-sensitive damping capability. At the rear, it is fitted with a linkage-type KYB single shock absorber similar to the YZ85 with improved settings. The Yamaha YZ450F braking system includes a 270 mm rotor at the front wheel and a 240 mm rotor on the rear wheel. It comes equipped with a three cross-spoke pattern wheel that enhances impact absorption.
The Yamaha YZ450F is powered by a 450cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, DOHC engine. It gets a compact rearward-slanted cylinder design and 4 lightweight titanium valves. It is equipped with an electronic fuel-injection system with a 44 mm Mikuni throttle body. This motocross bike features a handlebar-mounted map switch that allows the rider to select between two engine maps on the go.
