GPX Legend 250 Twin Overview
Design and Styling
The retro-classic design with modern touches gives the GPX Legend 250 Twin a very refined and elegant look. It is available in black, grey, and matte black colour options. The attractive LED headlight, chunkier USD forks, and sporty aluminium alloy wheels add a modern stroke to its timeless design. Also, the blacked-out engine components of the Legend 250 twin really complement its sophisticated colour options.
Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
This retro bike features a twin-cylinder, four-stroke engine that uses an efficient fuel injection system for fuel supply. The GPX Legend 250 Twin makes 16 PS of maximum power and 15 Nm of peak torque. Being a twin-cylinder, its power & torque figures are quite insufficient. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission that allows you to extract a decent top-end performance out of this bike. Even with its underpowered engine, it manages to whizz past 130 kmph on straightaways.
Suspension and Brakes
The GPX Legend 250 Twin is fitted with chunkier inverted front forks that not only look premium but also give this bike sharp handling characteristics. Two YSS Gas-charged shock absorbers with sub-tanks are linked to the rear end of this bike. Its rear shock absorbers come with threaded system spring preload adjustability. The GPX Legend 250 Twin features dual 276 mm disc brakes on the front wheel, which seems like an overkill for a bike of its size. At the rear wheel, it is fitted with a single 220 disc brake with a 1-pot calliper. It misses out on ABS, which is one of its major downsides.
Wheels and Tyres
It is equipped with sporty aluminium alloy wheels which are somewhat similar to the one seen on the Honda CB400. Its 17-inch wheels are wrapped with thick tubeless tyres. The GPX Legend 250 Twin front tyre size is 110/90-17 and its rear tyre size is 130/90-17.
Chassis and Dimensions
GPX has built this classic bike around a backbone frame which is very lightweight. The GPX Legend 250 Twin has a kerb weight of only 156 kg which compensates for its underpowered engine by providing quick acceleration. It has a seat height of 790 mm, making this retro bike easy to access. The Legend 250 Twin offers a large fuel tank of 14.5 litres that gives it a long riding range. Its wheelbase is 1,340 mm and it provides a ground clearance of 180 mm.
Features
The GPX Legend 250 Twin comes with an LED headlight with daytime running lamps. It also gets an LED taillamp and blinkers. It features a fully digital colour LCD instrument cluster that is easy to read even though it’s quite compact in size. Its LCD console displays a digital clock and a gear position indicator like the Benelli 180S.
GPX Legend 250 Twin Price in India and Launch Date
Currently, GPX has launched this retro bike in certain Southeast Asian markets only. The brand has not revealed any information regarding its launch in India. As the demand for entry-level classic bikes in India is skyrocketing, GPX may consider launching the Legend 250 Twin in near future. The GPX Legend 250 Twin price in India is expected to be around Rs 1.65 – 1.70 Lakh.
Our Verdict on the GPX Legend 250 Twin
The Legend 250 Twin looks stunning from all angles and it also has a premium build quality. It features a twin-cylinder engine which is quite underpowered but it still manages to deliver a delightful performance. It is very lightweight which makes up for its underpowered engine and also makes it easy to handle. Being a classic roadster, it offers a comfortable riding posture and its high-quality suspensions provide a comfortable ride. The GPX Legend 250 Twin is one of the best classic bikes in its class and it has all the qualities of being a big hit in the Indian market.
